Tiny DHCP Daemon

tinydhcpd is a command-line DHCP daemon for simple tasks. Its only purpose is to do basic IP address assigning when no other DHCP server is available.

Using this tool, you can assign IP addresses to clients by MAC address and provide a global default gateway. Dynamic pool allocation or other options are not available (but feel free to implement them and send in a patch ;) )

Usage

tinydhcpd -i <IP address> -b <DHCP binding> [-g <IP address>] [-b <DHCP binding>] ...

Options:
-i --interface=<IP address>Specify listening address for server
-g --gateway=<IP address>Specify default gateway for all bindings
-b --binding=<DHCP binding>Specify a DHCP binding for a MAC address
-c --config=<config file>Parse config file for MAC bindings
Explanations:
<IP address>An IPv4 address in dotted format.
<DHCP Binding>Specifies the binding between a specific MAC address and an IP address: <MAC address>=<IP address>[/<netmask>]
<MAC address>A list of 6 bytes in hexadecimal form, optionally separated by '-' or ':', eg. 01:23:45:67:89:AB
<netmask>A subnetmask either in dotted form or as an integer (eg. /24 equals /255.255.255.0). If omitted, 24 is assumed
<config file>A file containing lines with <DHCP binding> format
